“The Dominican Republic has it all,” is a slogan used by the Dominican State to sell the kindness and benefits of the Dominican brand, and as a foreigner, I affirm that these words carry more meaning than imagined. To describe this beautiful island, you must start with the people. Positively cheerful, joy is present in all the expression of their being. There are many natural resources, many of these full of a paradisiacal beauty, and very useful to boost national and international tourism. The Dominican State has been able to promote foreign investment, offering attractive incentives like tax exemption for the tourism sector for fifteen years. This has contributed to the unstoppable, sustainable development placing the Dominican Republic as the first growing economy in the region. Thanks to various global events and natural factors, the Dominican Republic is now seen as the next center of Caribbean conventions, and already the hotel capacity expands to such a level that it wouldn’t be unreasonable to think that demand exceeds supply.
The road systems are continually growing along with the development of the nation’s general construction. Ports and airports are ready to assist travelers, and who would have thought less than a decade ago that the Punta Cana international airport now has the capacity to receive more than three million tourists, and the trend keeps increasing. This beautiful island has eight international airports, and the ports are experiencing an increase regarding their capacity of people and goods from other parts of the planet.
The mixture of cultures in the Dominican Republic means that its gastronomy is experiencing challenging changes, as it is well known that consumers have a demanding palate, and transculturation creates an irresistible mix of flavors for diners.
Dominicans, although predominately Catholic and evangelist, do not have religious barriers, generating a society with freedom of thought and worship. Making an investment and negotiating in a happy country with people who have freedom of thought removes communication borders and restrictions.
Legal security is established in the constitution of the DR, and equal treatment is demonstrated by the fact that citizens and foreigners have the same rights and responsibilities.
